Our Story A Family Tradition Baked with Love

"The best cookies aren’t just made with ingredients. They’re made with love, tradition, and a little bit of family history in every bite."

Long before Eva & Gigi’s Bakery ever had a name, it was simply a family tradition.

We come from a long line of bakers — not the kind with fancy culinary degrees or polished restaurant kitchens, but the kind who baked out of love. The kind who believed that the best recipes weren’t written in cookbooks… they were written in memories, shared around the kitchen table.

Our story begins generations ago with both of my two Grandmothers in two different parts of the world. My American grandmother was known in her small town for her macadamia cookies. She baked them from her home for World War II Veterans and selling them to neighbors to help make a little extra money for the family. People didn’t just buy her cookies because they were delicious — they bought them because every batch was made with love and pride.

My German grandmother cooked meals for American soldiers stationed in Germany during World War II, serving comforting plates of schnitzel and noodles that gave them a feeling of home during uncertain times. Food wasn’t just food to her — it was comfort, connection, and kindness.

My mother carried on the baking traditions. She taught me how to cook when I was just a little girl. By the time I was seven years old, I could bake cookies all by myself. I started selling them around the neighborhood to earn money for church camp. Looking back, I didn’t realize it then, but those small moments were the beginning of something much bigger.

We didn’t grow up with a lot of money, but what we did have was something far more valuable — a family that gathered around the dinner table every single night. Our greatest memories weren’t fancy vacations or big events. They were simple evenings together, sharing a home-cooked meal. When my mom would make her famous cinnamon rolls or cookies. We’d sit in the living room watching Cary Grant or John Wayne movies while the smell of fresh baking filled the house. Those were the moments that felt like pure happiness. Baking was our family’s way of showing love.

Over the years, the recipes were passed down from generation to generation. They were tweaked, perfected, and shared with neighbors and friends — always bringing people together. Then one day, history repeated itself.

As my daughters got a little older, they came to me asking how they could earn some extra money. I smiled and told them the same story of how I used to bake cookies and banana bread to earn money when I was their age. Eva decided she would give it a try. She began baking cookies and selling them to friends at church. Before long, word started spreading. The more people tried them. The more people came back asking for more. Those old family recipes — the ones passed down for generations — were suddenly bringing joy to more people than we ever imagined.

Soon our kitchen counters were covered with cookie dough, cooling racks, and boxes ready for delivery. That’s when we realized something special was happening. So we sat down as a family and had a simple conversation:

“What if we shared our cookies with the world?”

Recipes that were never meant to be fancy.

Recipes that were meant to bring people together.

Recipes that had been baked with love for generations.

And that’s how Eva & Gigi’s Bakery was born.

Today, every cookie we bake carries a piece of that story — from my great-grandmother’s kitchen to ours. We still believe in the same simple idea our family always has:

The best cookies aren’t just made with ingredients. They’re made with love, tradition, and a little bit of family history in every bite.

And now we’re honored to share that tradition with you.
